In the NPE I used Sousuke. I used him as an AoE attack spammer... nothing could touch the team, it was brilliant

Sosuke can double as an early game Necromancer (since from what spoillage there's been it looks like we won't unlock one untill well after the starter island), but other than that I agree that elementalist roles aren't well filled by henchies. If I ended up running him in my shortlists (and I won't, unless he's needed to unlock some secret or something like that), I'd make him a Geomancer - twin Earthquakes plus Ward Against Melee - and fill the rest of the slots with mesmer interrupts.
Character wise, he seems a bit too similar to Kai Ying, except that he's emo about it... Yech!
On the other hand, why would you bother with a Ranger hero? Mesmer interrupts are instantaneous, don't require a bow, and work fine off the hero's secondary class; and necromancers are better both at spreading conditions* and at doing area damage... And there's no way I'm letting a henchman carry a pet** - that's an aggro nightmare waiting to happen.
...Ah, maybe I'll pick her and give her a Touch build for fun and nonprofit.
*given the AI limitations - rangers won't tab between enemies to spread poison to everyone, for instance.
**speaking of hero pet levelling being a hassle... How 'bout trying to raise a dire pet on a hero!

Rangers can get Choking Gas, Concussion Shot and Practiced Stance or Broadhead Arrow. On the other hand two choking gas rangers aren't much better than one choking gas ranger, while two nukers are better than one nuker, especially if they both have knockdowns. The biggest factor is probably going to be the relative quality of the mid to late game Elementalist and Ranger henchmen.
And it's strongly suspected that Kerak and Attoron are just names used for Jin and Olias in some of the non-English translations.

Jin. Used her as a toucher/packhunter in the preview event and both worked nicely. I'll make the cute centaur my water hexer.

"It"? You talk about GuildWiki like it's something that has its own mind. GuildWiki is made by the community of users. That's all of us. If there's an error in it, everybody is free to correct it.
For the heroes: The names that are listed are the names given by magazines or on fansites (who wrote their articles based on information handed to them by ANet), plus what was visible in the official trailer.

Complete Hero List!

- Tahlkora (monk)
- Acolyte Sousuke (elementalist)
- Acolyte Jin (ranger)
- Margrid (ranger)
- Zhed Shadowhoof (elementalist)
- Norgu (mesmer)
- Goren (warrior)
- Master of Whispers (unknown)
- Olias (necromancer, Prophecies only Hero)
- Zenmai (assassin, Factions only Hero)
- Razah (variable)

That confirms all thoughts and all previews (including Razah, the variable, who is supposedly from the Mists). It also fits the 12 Heroes + 2 Heroes (campaign-exclusive) that ArenaNet has been promoting.
However, there's one problem: No Morghan. Morghan was virtually confirmed in the Hero Preview as a Paragon. Now, we're without a permanent Paragon hero. That's quite dissappointing, since the PvE annihiliation build I had planned will be ineffective without a Paragon hero. Hopefully Razah will be obtained early...

That may be a mistake because I am pretty sure they wouldn't leave out a Nightfall only class in Nightfall. Heck, they even list the Dervish Hero in the newsletter even! Who knows, maybe they did get crazy and dropped a Dervish Hero. The 27th, we'll find out...

You'd think that Anet would remove Morgahn from that page if he wasn't a hero..
So no Rit hero?
Meh.

Morgahn's desciption on the website:
"MORGAHN
A former general in the service of the Kourna, Morgahn is betrayed by his allies and seeks vindication with your aid."
But the fact that he is not listed in the manual tells us three things:
-Morgahn is a temporary hero, perhaps only available in certain missions
-Morgahn really is an evil-doer
-Morgahn dies.."Rurik NOOOO..."
o.O
Anyways, so apperantly Master of Whispers' profession will remain unknown until he's discovered, though lots of proof aims towards the fact he's a necromancer. Obviously then he is not a variable build, as we have one now.
For the comment about Anet that we would think Anet includes every class, it apperantly isn't true, because they also dont have any ritualist hero. I guess those supporting ritualist and us cheerleading paragons aren't good enough to be heroes >_<.
So if they dont feel like being nice and creating new character models and templates for those two professions, they can at least give us two variable heroes

Oh come now did you not read the manuscripts for Prophecies and Factions?
How many henchmen were really listed in those manuscripts? Do you really think Nightfall's manuscripts are complete?
I doubt it....
I doubt it very much....
I think much in Nightfall will still surprise us. I doubt ANET would give up all of their games secrets before its released. I expect we will be very much surprised about what we will find in Nightfall.

I would, but nearly every resource (PC Gamer, Official site) has confirmed these heroes.

I dont think there should be too much doubt here.
14 heroes is what Anet has been advertising for a long while now, and just that fact should mean it's true, as heroes if anything is the primary new addition above all else in Nightfall; their primary source of advertising the new chapter.

I'm not so sure about zenmai and olias being factions and proph specific. They come from there, but I didn't see anything saying that you had to have the previous campaigns to get them. Not that I saw at first glance anyway, I'll go look at the manual later when I get home. They could just be nightfall specific heroes that happen to be foreigners to elona. And if thats the case, there's still a chance that there may be one extra hero for each of the older campaigns. Or thats what I'm hoping for anyway. I doubt they'd not have at least one hero of each class...
And don't rule out Morgahn. The description was on the website, it could well be that they are hiding the fact that he gets betrayed. He's listed in the manual as a loyal paragon, so they could be leaving it to be a plot twist that you get him as a hero later in the campaign.

From the recent Gamespot article:
"(On a cool note, while you don't need to own Guild Wars or Guild Wars Factions to play Nightfall, there is a neat reward if you do. There's a unique hero based on each of those two campaigns, and you can travel back to Tyria and Cantha and unlock them. Not only that, but you can also adventure around the original campaign settings with your heroes.)"
Also, if they weren't Tyrian and Canthan heroes, they would be listed in the "Meet the Heroes" page on guildwars.com with the other primary (Elonan) heroes.

Yeah just like the "confirmed" reports about RIT's and SIN's not being in Nightfall.
I don't doubt those are Hero’s one bit... I just think there will be more than those listed in the manuscripts.

I care a lot about Ritualist hero, I want one. Indeed, if they are adding heroes, why not add ALL 10 proffesions? Why skip a profession? They MUST even add heroes for the future professions (chapter 4)

There really should be a Paragon and Ritualist hero. Would kinda suck if they just leave out two professions like that. Especially such useful support characters.
